What is the best type of saving?

Post by TheSmartInvestor »

Saving on choice is best when one balances safety, growth, and access. The old-fashioned savings account is the safest but gives a low return. For bigger growth, investing in stocks, mutual funds, or real estate are good but it comes with risk. Some might choose fixed deposits for safety, while others go for retirement funds for long-term perks. What saving type do you consider the best?

I would say that the best type of saving actually depends on your plans and risk appetite. For example, an emergency fund could be put in a regular savings or high-yield savings account and it would do what is meant for perfectly, but if it's for long-term purpose like for retirement savings, it should ideally put in index funds or mutual or even in real estates that could bring in a much greater return in the future.

Personally, I have some dollars sitting in my savings account for immediate cash flow and I put the rest into investments like ETFs and retirement funds. That way, I will have liquidity and also accumulate some for wealth building.
