Market crashes create a lot of unrest, but they mostly occur after a correction has occurred. The market crashes are triggered by inflation, speculation about interest rate hikes, or geopolitical issues. But you don't have to panic, the market has always recovered in the past, and any crash gives one of the best buying opportunities for investors.

The market might crash when there is concern about high level of prices-stock prices are no longer within reasonable levels. Investors who are concerned will start selling their shares, leading to falling prices. Also pessimism about the economy would prompt investors to start selling because they expect profits to fall.

The crash is short term if it is a market correction. Otherwise, it could start a bear market which is difficult to time. Apathy towards the stock market can also cause a crash in prices. When the prices are falling, investors become fearful, leading to further selling and declining prices.
