It's an Initial Public Offering (or IPO) occurs when a privately owned company makes its shares available on the open market publicly for the first time as a method of raising capital. This gives investors the chance to get shares at the launching price and then sell it at the stock market. IPOs are capable of delivering profits and yet they have the tendency of posing some challenges tied to the performance of a business.

IPOs are risky and exciting at the same time because it doesn't mean that the company will always perform just because it's public.

Yes l, that is true! I believe that it's also very necessary that one should learn the company finances first before going into an IPO.
