Donald Trump to add 50% tariff on China

Donald Trump says the United States will slap an additional 50% tariff on China. This is as a result of China’s retaliatory tariffs of 34%.

He says if China does not withdraw its 34% increase by tomorrow, the United States will impose additional tariffs on China which is 50% effective from April the 9th, 2025. That is what the markets in China and the rest of the world are facing at the moment.

A threat by president Trump to impose a 50 percent tariff on China in addition to the duties that are currently being imposed at 54 percent adds up to a total tariff of 104 percent that is poised to trigger a trade war.
